Health is Wealth

HEALTH IS WEALTH

“Health is Wealth” and “sickness or disease is curse”. When a person is sick and suffering from a disease, he does not feel to eat anything; he gets very weak; he feels depressed and miserable; he gets irritated even on minor matters & his working capacity decreases.
A person is said to be healty or having good health only if:
(i)he has no sickness or disease.
(ii)there is no physical handicap.
(iii)he has no mental problems.
(iv)he has no social tensions.
(v)he has no phychological tensions.
(vi)he has no anxiety.


Advantages of good health

Good health increases our efficiency for doing work. It enables us to perform

various tasks at our best. The increased effeicency of a man due to good health contributes to his own progress, the progress of community and the progress of nation as a whole. Good health makes man happy and cheerful. This is because if a person is healthy. He is more likely to be happy. Good health makes living a joyful experience that is good health lends joy to living world.








Role of Education in keeping good health

Education of people helps in keeping good health in number of ways. These are discussed below:

1.Education tells us about the balanced diet
which we should eat to maintain good

health. If a person is educated. He will know about all types of foods.
2.Education tells us the working mechanism of our body system. It also tells how various diseases or infections are spread through air, water, insects and physical contact.
3.Education tells us about the various harmfull effects caused by bad habits of chewing or smoking tobacco, and of drinking alcohol(wine or whisky). If a person is educated, then there are more chances of his keeping away from these health running evils of smoking and drinking or taking narcotic drugs.
4.Education also tells us what type of treatments are available for various diseases at various centres. So, if an educated person falls ill. Then he will be able to make use of his knowledge and get the right type of medical treatment at the earliest.
5.Being educated a person will not be afraid of various surgical operations needed for proper treatment and restoration of good health.
6.Being educated, a person will get his children vaccinated at appropriate time for preventations of deseases.

Role of Poverty in Spoiling Good Health

Poverty is one of the major reasons for ill-health of our people. This is because of the following factor:
1.Due to poverty, people are not able to buy sufficient food. This leads to defiency dieseases and ruins the health of a person.
2.Poor people live in unclean and unhygienic surroundings, which are breeding grounds for disease-causing germs. In this way, poverty helps in spreading diseases and damaging good health.
3.Poor people are mostly uneducated. They do not know about things like balanced diet; the factors which cause diseases and precautions for preventing diseases.
4.Due to poverty, poor people are not able to get the best available medical treatment because of which the diseases linger on for a long time.
5.Being uneducated, poor people do not understand the harmful effects of tobacco and drinking alcohol. So many poor people chew tobacco and drink alcohol. This ruins both, their health and their economic conditions.
